A Melman Minute — June 29, 2011

Dear Readers:

After spending the better part of two days in Guyana, including all day yesterday either flying over or immersed in true tropical jungle, it is easy to draw two conclusions from our mining tour in this country located along South America's northern coast.

First, Guyana appears to hold tremendous potential in terms of mining exploration and development. Knowledgeable geologists have suggested that the entire northern portion of South America, stretching from the Pacific Coast of Colombia to the Atlantic Coasts of Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana and far northwest Brazil holds the possibility of genuine elephant" discoveries.

The local newspapers are filled with such stories on a daily basis.

Due to our heavy schedule today, including meeting with Guyana's Prime Minister, and a full travel schedule for tomorrow and Friday morning, my plan now is to prepare a full resume of the week's market and travel activities and have that posted as early as possible Friday evening or early Saturday morning and then resume our regular Melman Minute schedule next week.
